Given the opportunity, being interviewed as an expert in your field is the best way to try out science communication and immediately reach an audience while investing the least amount of time. But you also give up control over the message that is relayed to the audience.
Storytelling is a useful tool for science communication and also academic communication. How so?

As an interviewee, you only focus on preparing to communicate your expert knowledge to a specific audience. Everything else (writing, drawing, producing, editing, publishing, promoting, etc.) is done by someone else!
